A Quiet Guide — The Card and the One Who Drew It
On every table at The Ritual, there is a small card. Not a menu. Not a brochure. A painting — drawn by hand, with intention, given by someone who never draws for money.
The Card
On the cover is a man in a black suit. He is walking — no, flying — juggling into the air leather shoes, tins of Saphir, brushes. Everything is suspended mid-air.
At the bottom, in small letters: FROM MARCHER · ASIA SHOESHINE CHAMPION.
That is me. The artist saw me — and drew exactly what he saw.

"He didn't draw a shoe shiner. He drew someone living his craft."

The Ritual #01 — a card on every table

The One Who Drew It
I have known him for a long time. But we had never spoken. Never met in person.
He is a quiet artist. He rarely engages, rarely meets anyone. He does not sell his work for money — he chooses who to draw. He chooses who to entrust his passion to.
Yet within a short period of time, he chose to meet me twice.
I don't know what I did right. But I know that when someone like him decides to meet you — that is not a small thing.
"When someone who never meets anyone chooses to meet you — it means they see something in you that you haven't yet put into words."
What He Drew
In the illustration, nothing is wasted. The suit — because I believe this craft deserves to be worn in a suit. The shoes — because that is what I have spent my life caring for. The Saphir tin — because that is the standard I chose. And everything is flying — because that is how I feel when I do this work.
"Asia Shoeshine Champion" — that is the title from the Asian Shoeshine Championship. He placed it below the illustration not to boast. But to say: this craft can reach its highest. It deserves to be called a craft.
A Card on Every Table
At The Ritual, before the shining begins, each guest sits down and finds this card on their table.
No one explains anything. They pick it up, read it, and understand.
In 2026, this card was printed in limited quantity and given to friends and guests — those who have walked alongside Marcher.
Next year, the same figure. But a different stance. A different direction. Because this craft does not stand still — and does not need to change to become something different.
"A different stance each year — but the same person, the same craft. That is what timeless means."
Craft Note
"The card is not a guide to shining shoes. It is a reminder that anything you do with attention and love — can become a work of art."
— Marcher Saigon
